The Elite Fantasy Team - (Team 1)
So, back in August I came up with three Fantasy Football-esque Fantasy Teams for a Facebook contest I was entering. The teams had to be 5 characters from any TV shows, comic books, movies, or books. You could only enter one team into the contest, but I came up with three. Over the next three posts I will post the three teams and the reasons for picking the members.
The first team I called "The Elites". An "A-Team" setup with each member being a specialist in their field, each complimenting the others. The team is as follows....
Team Leader: Hannibal Smith (The A-Team)
Hannibal Smith is the perfect leader with his go-ahead attitude and his incredible knowledge and steel-trap memory. Who better to lead the ultimate team of bad-asses than the one guy who is able to predict every move, has a plan for every possible casualty, and can lead his team to even the most unlikely of wins. A good leader is able to create a detailed and fluid strategy that makes use of their teams strengths and even their weaknesses. Hannibal is able to do all these things and then some, and he even is able to mentor his team into being more than themselves as both individuals and as a whole. He is the epitome of the idea of a leader.
2nd in Command: Ellen Ripley (The Alien Franchise)
A proven leader and veteran survival expert, Ripley proved on numerous occasions to be resourceful, intelligent, and durable. She is able to function as a part of a team and on her own, and her ability to plan and strategize was the only thing that kept her alive against the Aliens. Her willingness to sacrifice herself to save those around her and her ability to listen to reason makes her the ideal second-in-command.
3rd Team Member: Kayako (The Grudge Series)
Kayako is, as far as anyone can tell, immortal and the spirit of vengeance. She is a force to be reckoned with, implementing both psychological fear and physical threat to tear apart her enemy's confidence down before devouring them body and soul. She is unrelenting, terrifying, and has the ability to influence the forces of mind, body, and nature. She is dangerous and not to be reasoned with, but with a leader like Hannibal Smith able to focus her rage she could be a dangerous and valuable member of the team.
4th Team Member: John McClane (Die Hard Franchise)
Mr. McClane may have a temper and a rebellious attitude, but like Ripley he is a survivor who also is resourceful and intelligent. He tends to go his own way, but his skill set, though limited to common knowledge circa 1960's and severely limited by his lack of understanding of modern technology, is fluid enough to process the information given him into an understanding of the situation at hand and how it should be handled. Once again, with Hannibal Smith commanding the respect and loyalty of John McClane, the ex-cop would compliment the rest of the team with an vitality and durability only possessed by an Elite.
Ellen Ripley, Kayako, John McClane, headed up by the decisive ingenuity of Hannibal Smith, this team could handle any situation, be it natural or supernatural in origin. The Elites would give other cinematic team-ups such as the Avengers, A-Team, and Ocean's 11, and Leverage a major run for their money before leaving them in the dust.
Tomorrow I will I will introduce the inanity-driven team of super baddies, "The Craze Squad".
This is Josh, sighing off for now.
Thank you all for reading!
