Fantasy Video Game Mash-ups!
One thing that people seem to love is mash-ups. “Freddy
vs Jason”, “Alien vs Predator”, “Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe”, rod and reel
combos, TV/DVD/VHS combos, DVD/BluRay/DigitalHD movies, etc… etc…
While some of these mashups make sense, and some others are totally convoluted, surprisingly there are a lot of things out there the human race has not managed to combine.

The other day I was playing Mass Effect 2 on my 360 while
my wife was busy next to me on her laptop playing god on Sims 4, when I couldn’t
help but wonder what would happen if you crossed Mass Effect with Sims. You
could design spaceships and houses and travel from planet to planet trying to
defeat the Collectors and keep your job all at the same time. This lead me to
wonder about other video game mashups, and so I came up with the following
list. Please enjoy my whimsical thoughts on what could be franchise mashups.
#1- “Sky-Sims” (Cross of “Skyrim” and “Sims”
“Sky-Sims” is the great world-building game where you
work to become a full member of Skyrim. Build a house, start a family, get a
job and earn gold to buy furnishings and upgrades for your home. In addition,
evil dragons are attacking, the government is fighting with a group of rebels
and there are Draugr coming up through the hole in your basement.
#2- “Infinite Sims: Big Bang Edition” (Cross of “Sims”, “Disney:
Infinity” and “The Big Bang Theory”)
In this fun game you can purchase little figurines of all
your favorite Big Bang Theory characters to bring to life on your TV screen via
the Infinite Gaming Platform. From there you have complete and total control
over the world of The Big Bang Theory. Will Sheldon and Leonard move out of the
building? Will Penny date Wolowitz? What would happen if Sheldon married
Bernadette and they had a child? The options are endless, the choices are all
yours.
#3- “Grand Theft Auto: Lightning McQueen” (Cross of “Grand
Theft Auto” and “Cars”)
Ever wonder what it would be like to race Luigi down the
street? To play Doc Hudson being chased by the police after robbing the local
7-Eleven? What about a game where you drive Mater around and try to knock over
as many little old ladies crossing the street as you can? Or, for the ultimate
collection of points, ever dream of knocking up a hooker in the back seat of
Lightning McQueen? Well now you can in the latest version of the Grand Theft
Auto Franchise. And if you are feeling nostalgic, you can pick up the Radiator
Springs DLC for a discount with purchase of the game.
#4- “Pokemon: Skyrim Region” (Cross of “Skyrim” and “Pokemon”)
Embark on the ultimate journey through the Skyrim Region,
learning to be the best Pokemon trainer there ever was. With a brand new set of
starter pokemon and new friends, you will find adventure around every corner.
Battle other trainers in spectacular Pokemon matches, and gear up for the
ultimate battle with Alduin, the Master Dragon-Type Trainer! Defeat him and you
become a Pokemon Master and can finally join the Pokemon League.
#5- “Mario-Kombat” (Cross of “Mario” and “Mortal Kombat”)
Battle one-on-one in this Ultimate Arcade Fighting Match
of the decade! Imagine, pitting Yoshi against Bowser and seeing the hapless
dinosaur impaled on Bowser’s shell spikes. Pair Princess Peach and Mario and
watch the Pink Lady herself rip out Mario’s spine and dance over his spurting
body. With amazing graphics and killer fatalities, this is the deathmatch you
never knew you wanted. And, after tearing your enemy to shreds, after seeing
them ripped limb-from-limb, bash them to the floor to the sounds of “Finish
Him!!!”
#6- “Skyrim: The Gathering” (Cross of “Magic: The
Gathering” and “Skyrim”)
When Alduin the Worldeater reappears and starts a deadly campaign
to resurrect the fallen Dragons, its up to Jace Beleren and the other Plainswalkers
to rise up to defeat this new threat. Choose your Mana and build your deck with
the monsters you capture from around the region until you have compiled the
ultimate battle deck. Then duel your way through the ranks of Alduin’s captains
until you reach the Master Dragon himself. Will you save the world? Or will you
perish under the Master Planeswalker’s horrible claws?
#7- “Infinite Scooby Doo” (Cross of “Scooby Doo” and “Disney:
Infinity”)
Collect the figures of your favorite Scooby Doo heroes
and monsters and enter a fully interactive world where mysteries reside and
monsters are just people in masks. Take your characters through the sandbox
world and build your very own haunted mansion. Or maybe create the perfect
diner with an exhaustive menu. Whatever you decide, make sure you bring the
gang along.
#8- “Shaun White- Assassin Scateboarder’s Creed” (Cross
of “Shaun White: Skateboarding” “Assassin’s Creed”)
You are Shaun Alistair, rebel skateboarder who is
determined to stop the Templar Gang from taking over the X-Games. Parkour about
the city either on foot or by skateboard and eliminate Templars with extreme prejudice.
But keep out of sight of the police, if they catch you prison may be the last
concrete you see.
#9- “The Darkness 3: Combat Evolved” (Cross of “The
Darkness” and “Halo”)
Jackie Estacado has been kidnapped and taken far away.
Strange languages and smells assault his senses until he is let out of his tiny
one-room prison and finds himself galaxies away from home. Calling on The
Darkness once again, Jackie must fight alongside the strange green-armored
warrior through hordes of the alien Covenant. But it isn’t until the human Marines
accidentally release the parasitic zombies call simply “The Flood” that Mr.
Estadado and his demonic allies find their true calling. Welcome to Halo, where
The Darkness reigns.
