RIP: Richard Hatch

Once again, we mourn the passing of a legend. Today, after a long bout with stage four pancreatic cancer, the world saw the passing of actor and author Richard Lawrence Hatch. From his start in "All My Children"(1971), Mr. Hatch has featured in over a hundred TV and movie productions. While he has been in everything from "The New Perry Mason" to "MacGyver" to "CHiPs" to "Fantasy Island" and "Murder, She Wrote", but what he is remembered for the most is his role of "Captain Apollo" in the original "Battlestar Galactica" movie and 1978 TV series. After his iconic role, Hatch went on to write a series based in the "Galactica" universe, and when SciFi rebooted the series he signed on to play a minor role as terrorist-turned-politician, Tom Zarek. Though both original series and the reboot have long ended, Richard Hatch will always be remembered as a film legend and SciFi veteran. He will be missed, and his name goes on the wall with all the other legends we have lost in the last few years.
